Hello! My name is Cesar Gonzalez and I am the Space and Flight and Integrated Science Teacher at Gutierrez Middle School!
Soaring through the sky has been on people’s minds since humans first watched a bird take flight. The Chinese were among the first to fly an object above the surface of the Earth when they invented the kite in 1000 BC. It wasn’t until much later, in 1903, that Orville and Wilbur Wright put a person in the air in a powered flying machine. Now air travel is common and frequent, and the choices for travel extend even beyond our planet and into space.
