so we'll begin with speaking about student device distribution student devices have been distributed to our students to ensure that they are able to access online teaching and learning and to provide a means by which students can show daily academic progress all technology and resources distributed to students must be used along the district guidelines rules regulations and policies governing the appropriate use an per our policy ceq local acceptable used by students and hcisd is of utmost importance non-compliance with the acceptable use policy is for hcisd may result disciplinary actions consistent with District policies students and parents acceptable use is of utmost importance in our district and we ask that students and parents both become familiar with the acceptable use policy hcisd parents and students taking care of district-issued devices is a priority on the screen you see tips to keep your District issue device safe and free from damage in addition to keeping your device safe and damage free we also ask that you monitor how well you and sure the screens on your devices are kept safe and damage free on the screen you see some tips on how to keep the screens of your devices free of any damages regarding damage devices it is important to note that any damages will be assessed to determine what charges if any will be incurred by parents charges will be dependent on the degree of damage to the device and parents and Guardians will be responsible for all charges related to any device repair it's important parents to also know that students are not authorized to attempt repairs themselves nor the authorized to contact any other individual or business for the repair of the device the privilege of using a district-issued device may be revoked if proper care is not taken of these devices for any lost or stolen device has students and parents are asked to contact their campuses library media specialist these items must be reported lost or stolen within a 24-hour. Once you make contact with your campuses library media specialist she or he will guide you and next steps in this process students and parents it's important note students may not loan their device to anyone for any reason if they do so students are responsible for any fees fines or losses parents on the screen you will see a list of responsibilities pride ourselves in hcisd that parents are truly are Partners in education as we issue devices and close the digital divide in our district we ask that you continue to support your child by ensuring that they know the contents of today's orientation we also ask that you monitor your students use of the device while they are at home we also ask that you continue to ensure that your students are engaged in all Isis and maintain daily academic progress
