I am incredibly pleased to introduce myself- my name is Alexander Comminos, aka Mr. Comminos and I am a visual arts teacher at GMS. A little bit about my background and education- I am originally from the South Side of Chicago and received my BFA from the School of the Art Institute there. After graduation I moved to Omaha, NE to work for a word famous artist Jun Kaneko. After completing my time with Jun, I decided that I wanted to continue my education, and knew I had a passion for teaching, so on to San Antonio and UTSA for an MFA. On completion of my masters, I started teaching college level as well as artistic talented young people in a program known as Mosaic. In 2014 I was offered a teaching position at UTPA and moved to Harlingen. Art and Teaching Art is of the greatest importance in my life. I look forward to sharing, motivating, and creating with the younger generation at GMS.
